Dubal reaffirms support to Omega Dubai Ladies Masters

Dubai Aluminium (Dubal) marked the 30th year of its operation in the Emirate by renewing their support to the forthcoming Omega Dubai Ladies Masters which gets under way at the Emirates Golf Club from December 7 to 12.

Dubai's industrial flagship, Dubal has been associated with the euro 500,000 Ladies European Tour event since its inception in 2006 and the extension of their support amply underlines the company's commitment to encouraging community initiatives and the broader goals of the Dubai Government.

This year's edition of the Omega Dubai Ladies Masters is expected to create quite a buzz in the golfing world with Michelle Wie leading a star parade which includes world-class players of the caliber of Laura Davies, Catriona Matthew, Karen Stupples and defending champion Anja Monke to name a few.

Mohammed A Yahya, Manager Corporate Relations and International Affairs, Dubal, said, "We are delighted to be associated with Dubai Ladies Masters again. We firmly believe that the tournament will help promote the Dubal brand to a world-wide audience."

"Dubal's ongoing support of the world-class tournaments, organized by Golf in Dubai, in our city is one of the many ways that our company invests in the development of Dubai. We are particularly proud that our support to the Dubai Desert Classic, a premier European PGA event which has helped raise Dubai's growling profile in the world golfing community," Yahya added.

"Today, the name of Dubai has become synonymous with golf - and a great deal of the city's popularity as a golf destination is due to the success of events like the Dubai Desert Classic and the Dubai Ladies Masters tournaments," he stated.

Commissioned in 1979, Dubal's Jebel Ali facility has grown into one of the world's largest and most successful primary aluminium producers. Over the years, it has transformed into a global aluminium producer, generating a total volume of 960,000 metric tonnes per year of quality hot metal in 2009.

Mohamed Juma Buamaim, vice-chairman and CEO of 'Golf in Dubai,', the promoters and organisers of the Omega Dubai Ladies Masters and the Omega Dubai Desert Classic, lauded unflinching commitment of Dubal in raising the global profile of the two premier events.

Buamaim said:
