Ministry of Finance ties-up Wall Street Exchange for e-Dirham Cards

Ministry of Finance announced today that it had signed an agreement with Wall Street Exchange Centre, a subsidiary of Emirates Post Group Holding to recharge and sell e-Dirham cards at select branches. The agreement to sell and recharge different classes of e-Dirham cards was signed by Faisal Ali Al Mansouri, Director of Income Development Department in the Ministry and Abdullah Bin Ghalib, Executive Director of Wall Street Exchange Centre.

Faisal Al Mansouri appraised the move in the context of the MOF's ongoing efforts to facilitate procedures related to e-Dirham that simplifies the use of smart cards for paying of fees for public services provided by governmental bodies in the UAE. He also said that MOF will continue to offer more services and to develop the system in line with global techniques.

Abdullah Bin Ghalib confirmed that the agreement was an important and effective step to strengthen governmental revenue collection methods. He also praised the role of Wall Street Exchange in providing various financial services with the highest standards of quality and excellence.

Bin Ghalib, added:

"This agreement is in line with the exchange's efforts to provide best added value services to its customers and meet their various needs while saving effort and money."


Under this agreement, all categories of e-Dirham cards will be sold and recharged through Wall Street outlets throughout the UAE. These will be chosen carefully, closer to governmental departments and offices. The agreement takes advantage of flexible working hours of the exchange during its seven-day working week, while some outlets work till late in the evening.

The e-Dirham system is a quantum replacement for traditional governmental revenue collection methods. The system depends on a simple and easy way, using the latest technologies. It provides clients with an easy way to pay fees for governmental services through smart cards. Ministry of Finance is working on adding more services, in addition to developing the system by launching the second generation of e-Dirham in the coming years.
