"The owner, his family and guests and all our staff who are handling the aircraft tell us that the Phoenix CRJ's configuration and workmanship are remarkable,"

noted Chuck Woods, JetAsia's CEO.

The aircraft, from Dubai-based Project Phoenix, with completions/interior by Flying Colours of Peterborough, Canada, is the owner's first aircraft. It has been operating privately around Asia since its arrival in Macau early September on journey lengths of up to six hours. The aircraft will be available for third party charter from early next year.

"From Jet Asia's perspective this is the first converted airliner in a market with a very strong potential. Although Asian business aviation was impacted over the past several quarters, aircraft orders are robust, charter flying is much improved, and the wealth of regional corporations and individuals suggest a very positive outlook," added Chuck Woods.

Project Phoenix, headed by CEO Mike Cappuccitti will participate at the Dubai Air Show next week (Exterior Chalet, Static B4) two years after the Phoenix CRJ programme was first announced.

"We have some very interesting meetings arranged and will be following on some strong leads in this region. The success of the aircraft in Asia is a tremendous boost to the programme," said Mike Cappuccitti.

Project Phoenix is also actively looking at expanding its expertise to other aircraft conversion programmes in the near future.
