FedEx Express has been the official courier sponsor of the Dubai Airshow since 2005 and has been an exhibitor from the mid-1990s. The company will set up a dedicated shipping counter at its stand to accept shipments for exhibitors and visitors.
"FedEx Express is proud to be the official courier of an exhibition as prominent as the Dubai Airshow," said Hamdi Osman, senior vice president, FedEx Express Middle East, Indian Subcontinent and Africa. "As a global event that attracts key decision makers from all over the world, it is important for us to have a presence at the show, given that we are the world's largest express transportation company and because Dubai plays a major role in our international flight network."
The Dubai Airshow is an anticipated event that takes place every two years. Previous exhibitions have been the forum for a number of high-profile business deals that have made global headlines. Despite difficult economic conditions across the region, the event is still regarded as a first-class platform for companies to participate and highlight their service offerings to customers and visitors.
FedEx Express established its regional headquarters and gateway facility in Dubai in 1989. The FedEx Dubai Hub commenced operations in 1998 by acting as a regional hub for the Middle East, Indian Subcontinent and Africa. This hub serves thirteen weekly FedEx Express flights that connect to and from airports in France, India and Hong Kong.
FedEx Express commitment to the aviation industry stems from its development of new technologies and strengthening its global infrastructure. In October this year, FedEx announced the expansion of its European hub at Roissy-Charles de Gaulle airport in Paris, France. The hub is now the company's largest outside the United States.
