Gulf Air is flying in musicians from well known choirs in Abu Dhabi, Dhahran, Dubai and Oman to join a concert by Manama Singers, bringing the entire choral groups numbers to 140 voices- the largest group of choral singers ever to sing under the baton of Bahrain- based Choral Director Mr. Alistair Auld. The singers will be accompanied by Bahrain Sinfonia, led by the acclaimed violinist John Perkins, to perform the famous choral work 'Messiah' by George Fredric Handel at the Crowne Plaza Convention Centre on 13 November.

Mr. Willy Boulter, Gulf Air Chief Commercial Officer, said:
"Bahrain has been a home to several nationalities for many decades and Gulf Air - a part and parcel of the Kingdom's history, culture and heritage for nearly 60 years- has always been supporting the local groups that are helping Bahrain charity organisations."

"I am particularly happy to see this multi-cultural group of enthusiastic and committed singers from all walks of life producing regular and high profile concerts of good quality music in Bahrain and support the local charities from the income generated from such concerts," he added.

The Manama Singers, a small but dedicated group of residents of Bahrain, interested in singing and music, held their first concert in December 1972. Since then the group has not only been entertaining the local audiences with good quality music but has also been providing an informal opportunity for enthusiastic singers of all standards and nationalities to sing in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere.

Founded in 1950, Gulf Air is the proud national carrier of the Kingdom of Bahrain. Having been operating for over half a Century, it ranks as one of the oldest airlines in the Middle East region. Though it continually strives to develop; its goal has remained unchanged - to maintain a constant commitment to the latest aviation technology and an adherence to traditional Arabian hospitality. Renown for its direct network to its non-stop flights schedules, Gulf Air covers the Middle East, the Americas, Africa and Asia-Pacific.
