Dr Ayesha Abdullah, Senior Vice President of Dubai Healthcare City said:

"We are delighted by the results of our first health festival initiative. We wanted to provide free information, advice and support for the community through a number of different means. The mobile clinic, in partnership with Unilever, served as a pilot program which we hope to extend next year. Our experts from Magrabi Eye Hospital, Medicentres International, Imperial Healthcare Institute, Boston University Dental Health Center plus support from the Kerela Youth Culture Club and Life Healthcare Group, enabled us to meet a high demand for basic health, dental and eye screenings and we surpassed our initial target of 1,000, delivering over 1,200 free health screenings."

"The two-day festival, which was part of a wider campaign to engage the public on health, provided an opportunity for the community to meet a wide range of medical experts and learn about different aspects of health and wellbeing. We are grateful to our sponsors, Novartis, Daman, The City Hospital, Magrabi Eye Hospital and the Juma Al Majid Center for Culture and Heritage for helping make the festival possible. We look forward to building on the success of Health Festival '09 next year by providing a regular, free festival on health and wellbeing for the community."
