Inaugural Bahrain International Airshow only two months away

With only two months to go until the launch event, joint-organisers Civil Aviation Affairs (CAA) for the Kingdom of Bahrain and Farnborough International Ltd (FIL) are looking forward to what looks likely to be a launch event sell-out.

To date, 90% of the chalets units have been sold for the show which will take place at Sakhir in Bahrain from 21-23 January 2010, with excellent indications of aircraft and product demonstrations.

Since invitations to take part were issued towards the end of 2008 and throughout 2009, FIL has announced steady sales for the inaugural event from across all sectors of the aerospace industry: business aviation, defence and commercial, and beyond from related industries. Participants at BIAS 2010 include, among others: Airbus, BAE Systems, Blenheim Capital Partners, Boeing, Cessna, DHL, Gulf Air, Lockheed Martin and Rolls-Royce.

BIAS 2010 - which is being held under Royal patronage - will be one of a kind in the aerospace events calendar. Comprising only 40 chalets and no exhibitions halls, companies taking part will be afforded tailor-made opportunities to network with highly important delegations and procurement executives from the industry and associated industries.

Speaking at the Dubai Airshow 2009, FIL Exhibitions & Events Director Amanda Stainer enthused:
"CAA and FIL are delighted with the take-up on chalets to date. We are especially pleased to have received such support from the UKTI Defence & Security Organisation (DSO) who will be hosting an outdoor demonstration area displaying products and equipment and featuring the groundbreaking attraction of UAV flying displays. We are certain BIAS will be a fantastic event for all concerned. It will be attended by many of the major players from throughout the aerospace community and, we are delighted to be able to say, by an extended network of commercial participants. Feedback from companies who have signed up to take part has confirmed that the wide appeal of this show is down to the exclusive and made-to-measure nature of the networking opportunities it offers, as well as the chance to showcase products and services in truly a five star environment, in an emerging market place."

Speaking ahead of last month's NBAA convention in Orlando, Florida, Trevor Esling, Cessna Aircraft Company's Vice President of International Sales, based at Cessna's UK office, also commented saying: "Cessna is delighted to be involved in what has been, from the outset, an event that had all the hallmarks of being a very well presented and organised show in an important area for business jet sales. Cessna and Wallan Aviation look forward to a highly successful event in Bahrain."
