Prince Khaled Al-Faisal, Emir of Makkah and Chairman of the Central Haj Committee was briefed on the service during his inspection tour of the holy sites in Makkah.
Al-Faisal watched a live demo on the way of the registration to the service, which was presented by Mobily team in Mina.
Mobily's CEO Khalid Al Kaf said that the free WiFi service covers all the holy including Mina, Arafat and Muzdalifah.
"All that users need to do is to search for Mobily network. after free registration through the mobile number of the user, the connection sets itself up automatically after free registration through the mobile number of the user, bringing mobile Internet connectivity into the hands of pilgrims, officials, journalists or any member of the public in the Holy Sites, who needs access to the Internet,"
Al kaf said.
Earlier this week, Mobily announced that it concluded its preparations for covering all the Holy Sites in Makkah and Madinah with its network, as part of its overall Hajj program.
Mobily conducted all required tests for the network to ensure the quality of its capacity and high quality coverage that includes all the five floors of Al-Jamarat, Arafat, Mina and Muzdalefah.
Mobily also announced that it started a campaign to introduce its services to the pilgrims at all holy sites though a large number of sales outlets in the Holy Cities of Makkah and Madinah, and Jeddah, international airports inside and outside the Kingdom, as well as all major border points into the Kingdom.
