- United Arab Emirates: Sunday, November 22 - 2009 at 10:54
- PRESS RELEASE
Oil and gas organizations from the Middle East and across Europe recently attended an industry-specific SAP Value Academy to gain access to SAP's own value management platform.
Feedback from a number of academy attendees revealed that;
• Technology is of crucial importance to enable oil and gas companies to grow their business
• It is important to benchmark their use of technology with industry peers
• Instilling value management as a key competence supports business / IT strategy alignment
• The most beneficial aspects of the SAP Oil & Gas Value Academy were identifying industry best practices, learning how driving value can better align IT with the business, and discovering proven approaches for economic justification of IT investments
Delegates who were questioned also revealed that the majority do not currently use formal value management practices, but almost all intend to following the academy.
Delegates who attended the Value Academy included representatives from the region's leading oil and gas organizations, such as Qatar's LNG producer RasGas, as well as delegates of companies from across Europe such as Petrokazakhstan. All businesses in attendance were granted exclusive access to SAP's own value management framework and tools.
