The summit, which focuses on 'Measuring PR for Government and Public Affairs', opened on Sunday, 22nd of November and ends on Tuesday, the 24th of November. The three-day event is being held at the Habtoor Grand Resort & Spa in Dubai.

Mazen Nahawi, President of News Group International and Richard Bagnall, Managing Director of Metrica were the resource speakers at the workshop, and the topics that were discussed included: the latest tools on New Media Measurement; a system of measuring blogs, chat rooms and social networking platforms; how to measure the impact of PR and determine the ROI measures; aligning measurement with organizational objectives and defining what to measure throughout the communication cycle; identifying the different measurement tools for online and traditional media; how to differentiate the impact of PR from advertising and other marketing activities; overcoming budgeting challenges and determining how to measure PR with any budget; and, defining a blueprint on how to restructure every aspect of the PR cycle to include data driven decision-making.

"In this modern and fast-paced environment driven by the latest technology available, it is necessary for PR and public affairs professionals and communicators to be constantly updated with the latest tools in the industry, most especially on how they can effectively measure the impact of what they are engaged in. With the line-up of topics that were discussed, the workshop will undoubtedly equip participants with the necessary tools in measuring the impact of PR, as well as the objectives and other administrative components involved in the entire communication campaign,"
said Nahawi.

"And because the workshop is being held as a prelude to the main programme of the 3rd PR Measurement Summit, the workshop would enable attendees to actively participate in the discussion, examination and debate about 'Measuring PR for Government and Public Affairs'," concluded Nahawi.
