The theme of the event focused on innovation and real business live with colour unleashed and was well attended by Xerox's customers and partners as well as international and regional IT and business managers looking for a practical solution to enhance their business needs

Providing compelling cost and environmental benefits without compromising image quality and performance, the newly launched, Xerox ColorQube 9200 Series multifunction printer cuts the cost of colour pages by as much as 62% compared to colour lasers and vastly reduces the environmental impact of office printing.

"Our customers are looking for ways to achieve more with less,"

Dan Smith, General Manager for Integrated Marketing, Xerox, MEA DMO .

"With ColorQube we are unlocking the benefits of colour by applying our proprietary solid ink technology to lower costs and make operations simpler and greener."

The ColorQube 9200 Series comprises three models that print, scan and copy, with print speeds ranging from 38 to 85 pages per minute (ppm). They were built from a "clean-sheet" design to achieve the fastest speeds and highest print volumes yet with solid ink technology, which has been used in Xerox desktop printers for more than a decade.

"The ColorQube 9200 Series represents printing technology that is very timely for today's office," said Angèle Boyd, group vice president, IDC. "Going green and saving money while adding colour as needed is what customers are looking for."

Having launched in the United States and other markets in 2009, the system has already been recognized with three prestigious awards:
• A Technological Innovation Award from Industry Analysts, Inc. recognizing the system's breakthrough technology.
• The "Most Innovative Colour Printer Pricing" in the 2009 BERTL's Best Awards, for the new Hybrid Colour pricing plans offered with ColorQube, and
• An Outstanding Achievement Award from Buyers Laboratory Inc. (BLI) for the system's innovative pricing structure, ease of use and environmental benefits.

Environmentally Friendly

The ColorQube 9200's cartridge-free design - which uses non-toxic, crayon-like ink sticks that are easy to load - generates 90% less supplies waste than comparable colour laser printers. It also reduces the effects of manufacturing and transportation on the environment. A study reviewed by the Rochester (New York) Institute of Technology in the United States estimated that the ColorQube series uses 9% less lifecycle energy and produces 10% fewer greenhouse gases than a comparable laser device.

The new model also meets the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency's rigorous new 2009 ENERGY STAR requirements.

Innovative Pricing Plan

The ColorQube 9200 Series is offered with Xerox's new Hybrid Color pricing plans that significantly reduce colour page costs. With these plans, customers pay only for the amount of colour they use on a given page.

The plans eliminate traditional "one-size-fits-all" pricing, where the cost of a page with full-colour coverage is the same as a page with minimal colour. At the company's Web site, http://www.FinallyColorIsLess.com, users can compare their current cost of colour printing to what they would pay using ColorQube.

Easy Operation and Maintenance

The ColorQube system is easy to use and maintain. A large, colour, touch screen clearly displays basic features like copying and scanning and offers video tutorials to help users load paper and assist with troubleshooting. Additional customized workflow operations that are accessible from the touch screen can be created with the system's Xerox Extensible Interface Platform.

Many ColorQube components are designed to last the life of the system. The devices have just one customer replaceable unit — a cleaning unit — that typically requires changing just once or twice a year. The solid ink sticks also requires limited intervention. Sufficient ink can be loaded to print as many as 55,500 pages before refilling. And when a refill is needed, the easy drop-in ink sticks can be loaded while the MFP is printing so there is no downtime.

High Quality, Great Flexibility

The ColorQube 9200 Series produces excellent image quality and vibrant colours on a wide range of stocks, performing especially well on recycled and economy stocks. To optimize color quality, the new models are equipped with true Adobe PostScript3, PANTONE spot-color matching and several color correction options.

Three finishing options include booklet makers and folders to provide complete solutions for creating brochures and pamphlets.
