New VW Golf R and Scirocco R to hit Oman market

Zubair Automotive, Oman's exclusive distributor of Volkswagen cars, has said that the recently introduced Golf R and Scirocco R models can be pre-ordered through any of its showrooms across the Sultanate. Each R model uses a four-cylinder, 2.0-liter, turbocharged TSI engine. The Golf R will receive about 265 horsepower and up to 350 Nm of torque, while the Scirocco R receives about 260 horsepower. Both vehicles are electronically limited to 250 km/h. Fuel economy has been significantly improved on both models, with the Golf using about 21% less fuel, the company said.
