Tekla's BIM Solutions takes centre stage at Big5 2009
- United Arab Emirates: Tuesday, November 24 - 2009 at 11:56
- PRESS RELEASE
Tekla is showcasing its industry leading Building Information Modeling (BIM) solution at this year's Big5 exhibition taking place in Dubai from 23 - 26 November. Industry experts agree that BIM can vastly reduce operational cost, and manage waste over the life cycle of a project.
"Big5 is one of the most important exhibitions that cater to the construction industry, providing global players a common platform for networking and business development," said Tahir Sharif, Managing Director, Tekla ME.
"With investments in the construction sector remaining positive across the Gulf, companies are now adopting 3D technology and Tekla is playing a central role in helping corporations realise the benefits of using industry best practices, such as Tekla BIM to effectively manage the life cycle of projects."
Globally, the construction industry is facing its toughest challenge yet, and cutting cost is of paramount importance. The Middle East construction sector has endured the economic challenges to emerge stronger.
As well as running live demonstrations of its entire product range, Tekla will host senior managers to discuss specific customer issues in a one-to-one environment.
"The UAE is set for a revolutionary change in the construction sector, as BIM technology is increasingly demanded for use in all projects moving forward. Tekla will use the platform provided by Big5 to help the construction industry realise the benefits of implementing BIM technology across their projects," added Sharif.
Representatives from Tekla will be available throughout Big5 Dubai to provide a detailed overview. Tekla will be exhibiting on Stand No 8D339 Hall 8, Big5 Dubai, at the Dubai International Conventional and Exhibition Centre.

About Tekla:Tekla's model-based software products make customers' core processes more effective in building, construction, and infrastructure management. Tekla Corporation has area offices and partner organisations worldwide. International operations account for more than 80% of net sales. Founded in 1966, Tekla is one of the longest operating software companies in Finland.
Tekla's technology creates new opportunities for the construction industry. Tekla Structures, the most advanced BIM (Building Information Modelling) software on the market, provides an accurate, dynamic, and data-rich 3D environment that can be shared by contractors, structural engineers, steel detailers and fabricators, as well as concrete detailers and manufacturers. The highly detailed as-built structural models created in Tekla Structures enable the highest level of constructability and production control. Centralising model and non-model based data into the model allows for more collaborative and integrated project management and delivery. This translates into increased productivity, elimination of waste, and an enhanced value for structural modelling.
