Martin Dell appointed Director of Restaurants at the Jordan Valley Marriott Resort and Spa

Philip Papadopoulos, the General Manager of the Jordan Valley Marriott Resort & Spa, is pleased to announce the appointment of Martin Dell as Director of Restaurants starting the 1st of November 2009.

A Czech native, Martin's hotel career started in the Czech Republic back in 1993 as a trainee at one of the best and oldest five star hotels in Europe, the Grand Hotel Pupp. He then moved to Hotel Jessenius, as a head waiter, and in 2000 he moved to join the Ingo Casino, as a Restaurant & Banquet Manager. In 2002, Martin left the Czech Republic, and decided to move to Sydney, Australia to join the Rialto Family Restaurant as a Restaurant Manager. In August 2003, Martin joined the Summit and Orbit bar (Accor Hotels & Resorts) managed by the celebrity chef Michael Moore where he was voted the employee of the year in 2003. He was then promoted to an Assistant Restaurant Manager in July 2004, and to Restaurant Operations Manager in December 2005.

Martin joined Marriott in 2007 as a Restaurants Manager at the JW Marriott, Hong Kong, a hotel with seven award-winning restaurants. He was responsible for the lobby lounge, Q88 Cocktail & Wine Room, Riedel Room (the first and the only Riedel Room in the world and became "Glasselier')

Martin is an experienced traveller and masters three languages. He is a qualified Sommelier, passionate about wine, qualified Barista, and with more than 18 years of experience in the food and beverage industry.

Marriott International manages three properties in Jordan, the Amman Marriott Hotel, the Petra Marriott Hotel and the Jordan Valley Marriott Resort & Spa.
