Rainer joins Aloft with a strong hotel background that began in Heidelberg, Germany in 1994 at both the Holiday Inn and Intercontinental Groups. He then moved on to become part of the Starwood Hotels and Resorts team the Sheraton Hotel, at London Heathrow. From 1997-1999 he held the position of Assistant Front Office Manager at the Sheraton Hotel in Frankfurt.
Relocating to the Balearic Island of Mallorca, Spain in 2002 to take up the position of Front Office Manager at another Starwood Property, St. Regis Mardavall Resort, Rainer was fully involved in the opening of this 133 roomed luxury property. He then moved onto his next opening: the 284 roomed Sheraton La Caleta Resort and Spa, Teneriffe as Director of Rooms from 2004-2007.
From 2007 onwards The Westin Valencia, Le Meridien Barcelona and Le Meridien Ra Beach Hotel and Spa all benefited from Rainer's implementation of innovative process management solutions through Six Sigma & Lean initiatives when he took on the role of Complex Director of Six Sigma & Operational Innovation at these properties. 2007 was also the year that Rainer won the Black Belt of the Year award.
Moving to Abu Dhabi in 2009, he now takes on the role of Director of Operations at Aloft, Abu Dhabi.
