  • PRESS RELEASE

The first all encompassing environmental event for the GCC region, Gulf Environment Forum, taking place in Jeddah on 7-9th March 2010, has announced the full support of the Presidency of Meteorology Environment, UNEP and UNDP.

Held under patronage of HRH Prince Turki Bin Nasser Bin Abdulaziz, Chairman of the Presidency of Meteorology and Environment, GEF will bring many crucial industries together under three key themes; Exchange, Develop, Sustain.

GEF arrives at a time where opinions towards the environment in the Middle East are drastically changing, and a huge shift in attitude means investment opportunities are rife within the region and with the full support of influential organisations such as UNDP and UNEP, this event signifies the GCC's commitment to develop the Gulf for the benefit of all.

This inaugural event will combine an international exhibition and strategic conference where industry experts will gather at the luxurious Jeddah Hilton for the chance to discuss solutions and opportunities for a cleaner and brighter future.

Over $100bn has been forecasted for environmental investment over the next 10 years in the GCC, and with companies such as GE Energy, Saudi Aramco and Dow Chemical spearheading green initiatives, the world's biggest companies are now investing in one of the fastest growing markets in the world.

The Exhibition is not only your chance to be seen as a pioneer in the industry but you will also be stating your commitment to changing the Gulf for the better. Huge contracts are currently being won across the region; the GEF exhibition is your perfect opportunity to be a part of this huge movement.

The strategic conference will be focused on delivering thought provoking, interactive discussions that will encourage audience participation. This will deliver the perfect platform to get your voice hear and discuss strategic insight with industry experts. Topics will include:

• Advancing Environmental Regulation and Enforcement in Saudi Arabia and the Middle East.
• Managing Water Resources and Wastewater Effectively.
• Developing Waste Management Practices.
• The Future of Environmental Technology.
