19% increase in sales for Emirates Coop with Eid Al-Adha and National Day promotional campaign

Mr. Farid Al Shamandy, the General Manager of Emirates Cooperative Society, stated that Emirates Coop has achieved a 19% increase in sales during the special promotion campaign for Eid al-Adha and National Day that was held during November 25 to December 5, 2009. Mr. Farid also stated that there was an increase in footfall and purchase volumes as compared to 2008, indicating that the increase was the result of a carefully planned promotional strategic.
Mr. Farid said that in future Emirates Coop will continue with different promotional campaigns as part of a strategic plan set by the Board of Directors to help the consumers and to serve the society by offering a highly competitive price structure. He also pointed out that the Weekend Fresh Food Promotion will continue as scheduled every Thursday, Friday and Saturday to provide varieties of fresh meat, fruits and vegetables.
"We have also made shopping made easier for our customers residing near Al Twar 3, Al Mizhar 2, Satwa, Garhoud and Saffouh area branches by providing the option of placing there orders through the 800-327 (800ECS) toll-free call center," said Mr. Farid.
