With this announcement, the BWTC is now 87% leased and over 80% occupied, and is attracting a wide range of leading local and international institutions to set up operations in the Kingdom.

Atkins is responsible for the iconic design of the BWTC, and hold among their project portfolio other regional landmarks, such as Durrat al Bahrain and the Burj al Arab.

Helen Dixon, Northern Gulf Marketing Manager of Atkins, commented:

"Atkins was commissioned to design, engineer and supervise the construction of the Bahrain World Trade Center, and since the project's inception we have wanted to move in and experience our own work! As the world's first commercial building to incorporate large-scale wind turbines, it is important that our office in Bahrain reflects our creative and engineering abilities. Located in central Manama, the BWTC is a landmark building for businesses in Bahrain and has come to symbolise the business-friendly environment of the Kingdom. By being based in our flagship building, our clients will get to see first-hand that our projects are beautiful, practical and sustainable, and actively contribute to the economic interests of Bahrain."

Bob Addison, Country Manager and Director of DTZ, BWTC's leasing and managing agents, said: "Atkins has been closely associated with this development since its inception. Their shift to BWTC underlines their professional and creative reputation and reflects their commitment to quality and world-class design and excellence. The BWTC provides an office address at the heart of the Kingdom's business district within few minutes drive from Bahrain International Airport and the King Fahad Causeway which connects Bahrain to Saudi Arabia."

Corporate residents of BWTC benefit by combining the essential elements of business and leisure with cutting-edge corporate offices and social amenities including exceptional shopping; fine dining and casual dining restaurants; cafes; a health spa; a five-star hotel, extensive parking facilities and a range of business-related services.
