H.E Mohammed Omar Abdullah inaugurates the 2nd Emirates Boat Show 2009 in Abu Dhabi

H.E Mohammed Omar Abdullah, Undersecretary of Abu Dhabi Department of Economic Development inaugurated yesterday (Dec. 9th) the 2nd Edition of Emirates Boat Show 2009 at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre (ADNEC) in Abu Dhabi. The five day exhibition will show case more than 100 luxury boats and several aspects of the marine lifestyle from a 150 leading brands represented by exhibitors from 20 countries.

H.E Mohammed Omar Abdullah, said:
"Abu Dhabi is witnessing a active era of exhibitions and conferences through the year which contributes to the growth in the economy and trade of the city. The Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre (ADNEC) also has highly contributed to this growth through more than 100 local, regional and exhibitions activities hosted all through the year. The Emirates Boat Show 2009 is a live example of the international shows hosted by ADNEC which comes in line with the emirate strategy to elevate the level of hosting such big event to international standards."


Undersecretary of Abu Dhabi Department of Economic Development concluded, "The renovated venue of ADNEC is one of the best locations to host activities in the world and is capable of achieving the set goals and strategy all through the year."

H.E Mohammed Omar Abdullah also mentioned that The Emirates Boat Show 2009 has witnessed a great deal of development with the increase of visitors, participants and exhibitors which promotes Abu Dhabi as yachting and boating destination for both UAE locals and expatriates in the city.

Wael Juju, Chief Executive Officer- Knotika Holding said, "With this inauguration Knotika Holding has set yet another milestone in the journey to creating a boating community in Abu Dhabi. This show will also promote the capital Abu Dhabi as a yachting destination especially that the city is still committed to developing the biggest number of berth marine's in the world."

Mr. Juju also emphasized the importance foreign investments in this show and the development Abu Dhabi has witnessed in the past years, "More than 70% of the exhibitors are international exhibitors. This is an indication of the great interest Abu Dhabi has generated from foreign investors. With waterfront projects such as Yas Island, Al Reem Island and Saadiyat Islands Abu Dhabi has become an attraction for foreign investors in the boating and yachting industry."

On the other hand Simon Horgan, ADNEC Group CEO, said, "I am delighted to welcome the inaugural Emirates Boat Show to ADNEC; this is a high quality edition to the events calendar of Abu Dhabi and one which highlights the emirate's position as a major global hub for exhibitions and events."

The show was also attended by Malek Al Malek, the UAE Team driver for the UIM F2 World Championship, "I am delighted to be here today and to enjoy such an effective and important exhibition. We have seen recently a development in the water projects in Abu Dhabi and this show will help raise awareness about the importance of boating and yachting in the city. The UAE has achieved a number of goals in sports marine especially in participation in international events such as UIM F2 World Championship and promoting such exhibitions will help achieve more goals in the near future."

The exhibition will take place from Dec. 9th to Dec 13th, 2009 at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre. Doors will be open for visitors from 4 pm till 10 pm during the 5 day exhibition to view Luxury Yachts and Cruisers, Sailing Boats, Houseboats, Marinas, DIVING, Fishing, Sport Boats, Navigational Equipment, Charter Boats, Boats accessories, Boat interiors, Kayaks, Jet Skis, Luxury Taxi boat and other related items.

Major Exhibitor include Art Marine, Sunseeker ME, IMG, Gulf Craft, Leisure Marine, Al Masaood, Al Halami, Emocean Marine, Al Marakeb, Ghantoot Marina and others. Also major Brand from all over the world include Riva, Azimut, Majesty, Numarine, Benetti, Atlantis, Princess, Rizardi, Doral, Larson,Hatteras Riviera, .Outerlimit, Princess, Sunseeker.

The show is sponsored by Premier Motors Premier Motors, a subsidiary of Al Tayer Motors - the UAE's premier automobile dealership - and represents Ford, Lincoln, Mercury, Land Rover, Jaguar, Ferrari, Maserati and Spyker cars in Abu Dhabi and Al Ain. The company's automotive portfolio also includes DAF Trucks.

Premier Motors will display some of the latest cars from the Maserati Quattroporte and GranTurismo range at EBSI 2009. These include the Quattroporte S, Quattroporte Sport GTS, GranTurismo S and GranTurismo S with MC Sport Line package.
