DHL Worldwide Express delivers the first express shipment into Iraq

DHL Worldwide Express, the global leader in express and logistics services, reinforced its commitment to aiding the stabilisation process of post war Iraq by recently transporting the first express consignment into the Iraqi territory.

As the first Express operator into Iraq, DHL's expertise in logistics solutions combined with its extensive road and air network, allowed the shipment to be taken to Basra in due course, despite difficult travel circumstances

According to Phil Couchman, DHL Area Director - Middle East, "DHL is committed to facilitating the social and economic development of Iraq and will continue to concentrate its air and road resources to carry both humanitarian and commercial consignment to help the Iraqi community."

DHL is currently setting up its offices in all major cities in Iraq and expects to be fully operational within the coming week in order to further enhance its delivery services in the region.
