With a 16 per cent increase in Middle East visitors travelling to Thailand last year compared to 2001, bringing the number of travellers to 245,822, the new five-star deluxe hotel is set to meet this demand.

"Thailand is a popular destinations for Middle East travellers - reflected in the increased traffic. Bangkok is a very multi-cultural city, with a small Arab community. We're looking forward to welcoming Arab nationals, as well as expatriates living in the Gulf - particularly in the summer when they need to escape from the heat and humidity," said Gregory Meadows, general manager of Conrad Bangkok.

"Leisure traffic from the region to Thailand has grown by nearly 19 per cent, year on year, while business travel is up by over 17 per cent. Their length of stay averages at 10 days. And with our new property we're ready to welcome this increased demand."

The contemporary 392-room Conrad Bangkok has introduced the Thai market to a new hospitality concept representing the brand's luxury qualities, while offering business and leisure travellers the best of both worlds.

"The new hotel is our 15th hotel worldwide, and in the first three months of operation, we've seen an excellent response to its unique product offering. We're positioning the Conrad Bangkok as a flagship hotel with a new attitude - delivering both a superior product and an exceptional level of service. It's all about attention to detail, and that's something Conrad has tremendous expertise in," said Clem Barter, President, Conrad Hotels.

The property is ideally located in All Seasons Place - Bangkok's premier integrated office, retail, residential and hotel development - in the bustling business district, close to embassies, shopping malls and Sky Train transportation.

The guest rooms, discreetly influenced by Thai decorative handwork, are unusually spacious and wired with the latest communications technology. With a deluxe spa and fitness centre, a 36-metre roof top swimming pool and jogging track, as well as floodlit tennis courts, the hotel offers the ultimate leisure facilities.

Meanwhile, the hotel's innovative food and beverage outlets showcase some of the world's most creative cuisine. Guests can choose from five different destination concepts - 87 offering a global menu including Middle Eastern favourites, Drinking Tea, Eating Rice serving Japanese cuisine, Liu for Chinese, Café @ 2 for all day dining, and the relaxed setting of The Diplomat Bar.

"Our offering is far greater than any other property here. We are here to anticipate our guests' needs and ensure delivery is at its best. We want this to be their home away from home. The hotel has a number of very unique features, such as the glass wall bathrooms with free-standing bathtubs and separate shower cabins. There's really nothing else quite like it here. Our attention to detail in terms of concept, design and cuisine is totally innovative for Bangkok," added Meadows.

Synonymous with Conrad's meeting facilities worldwide, the hotel features one of Bangkok's most versatile and spacious conference and banqueting amenities including three ballrooms, with the largest accommodating up to 800 people seated, a 24-hour business centre and state-of-the-art meeting and function rooms.

The hotel offers special executive and weekend packages for business and leisure travellers, while guests will also enjoy chauffeur-driven airport collection in E-class Mercedes limousines.
