- PRESS RELEASE
Dubai 2003 is offering hundreds of UAE national students the opportunity of a lifetime to gain temporary employment and a unique working experience during the 58th Annual Meetings of the Boards of Governors of the World Bank Group and International Monetary Fund.
Dubai 2003 is also to launch an advertising campaign to help attract the enthusiastic and motivated students required to help ensure the success of the Annual Meetings that are being held in an Arab city for the first time.
General Coordinator Mr. Ibrahim Belselah said: "We are fully committed to ensuring that our brightest and best young people have the opportunity to participate and benefit from the fact that the world's financial community is meeting here in the UAE in September.
"It will give National students an unrivalled opportunity to work in a truly international environment, meet and observe financiers and business leaders from all over the world and give them valuable experience to help with their future careers."
Information about the full range of available jobs was on display at the Dubai 2003 pavilion with application forms for interested students to complete.
The activity at Careers UAE supports the unique community programme launched by Dubai 2003 aimed at creating more awareness among national students in colleges and universities, bank employees and the business community in the UAE of the Annual Meetings.
Dubai 2003 has appointed Sara Ismail Mohamed to manage the community awareness campaign across the UAE. Ms. Mohamed, who has wide experience in the financial and banking sector in the UAE, launched the programme on April 7 with a presentation on Dubai 2003 to students of Zayed University from both Dubai and Abu Dhabi.
Seminars in several other higher educational and financial institutions are being held this month including Citibank in Dubai, Higher Colleges of Technology Men's and Women's Colleges in Dubai and Sharjah, Abu Dhabi Business Women's Conference, American University of Sharjah and American University of Dubai.
The Annual Meetings of the Boards of Governors of the World Bank Group and International Monetary Fund were first held in Washington DC in 1946. They are hosted by an international city one year in three. Dubai and the UAE were selected because of its highly developed transportation and logistics infrastructure, growing importance as a financial hub and its established position as an oasis of opportunity.
