Emirates Post outlets to offer E-Vision subscription services

Emirates Post and E-Vision, the UAE's only digital cable TV provider, has signed an agreement to offer E-Vision subscription services at post offices in a phased manner starting with the Jumeirah Post Office on May 1, 2003.

The agreement was signed recently by Abdulla Al Daboos, Director General, Emirates Post, and Humaid Rashid Sahoo, E-Vision's Chief Executive Officer, at Emirates Post headquarters at the Deira Main Post Office in Dubai.

Commenting on the agreement Mr. Daboos said: 'This deal with E-Vision to offer cable TV subscription services at the postal counters is part of Emirates Post's strategy to diversify its offering for the benefit of the customer who can avail of different services under one roof. We attach major importance to this agreement because we believe E-Vision is emerging as the leader in the digital cable TV market'. Mr. Daboos added that Emirates Post and E-Vision were both dedicated to introducing innovative services to their consumers.

'The addition of E-Vision subscription services at post offices comes on the heels of new services like ATM machines, utility payment machines and sale of Dubai Municipality's prepaid parking cards at postal outlets,' Mr. Daboos added. 'This is just the start of our diversification strategy and in the near future our customers can expect a wide range of services to be available at postal counters.'

According to Humaid Rashid Sahoo, Chief Executive Officer, E-Vision, the arrangement to offer E-Vision subscription services at the postal offices helps expand the company's network of regional offices and resellers across the country.

'We are committed to offering customers better services and we are confident the arrangement to introduce our services at the Emirates Post offices will make E-Vision and its services accessible to a larger section of the residents living in those particular areas', added Sahoo.

After Jumeirah, the E-Vision subscription services will be available at Karama Central post office and Sharjah Central post office on May 15, 2003. Thereafter, the service will be introduced at different parts of the country in a phased manner with the aim to make E-Vision subscription services available at most postal outlets in the near future.

Emirates Post has made suitable arrangements to cater to the needs of E-Vision existing and potential customers. Potential subscribers can fill up subscription forms and pay the fees at the postal counter. The subscriber will be then contacted by E-Vision staff to arrange for the installation and connection be made. Renewal of subscription can also be made at the same counter.
