Dubai Duty Free Staff get LG mobile phones training
- United Arab Emirates: Wednesday, April 23 - 2003 at 13:51
- PRESS RELEASE
Over 50 sales staff from Dubai Duty Free recently underwent training by LG Electronics which focussed on the global and regional digital leader's range of cutting-edge mobile phones.
The Dubai Duty Free staff were welcomed to the training sessions, at the Renaissance Hotel in Dubai by B. H. Ahn, LG Product Manager and Hikmat Arbid, Division Manager, Al-Sayegh Brothers Trading.
"We believe training is essential in building customer awareness and sales," said B. H. Ahn. "It is crucial that sales staff are able to better explain to customers all the relevant details of the phones and how they can seek service support."
LG entered the mobile phone arena early last year and has since built its product range to appeal across the mid to high end sectors.
Having achieved US $20 million worth of mobile sales across the Middle East and Africa, the Korean giant is looking to boost regional sales for the sector by 650% this year. "Training of all suppliers' staff will assist us in reaching our target," said Ahn.
The trainees, who represented Dubai Duty Free's terminal 2, arrivals and departure lounge facilities, were unanimous in emphasising the training benefits.
"LG has a very impressive range of mobile phones and this training gives both us and LG an added advantage in helping to boost sales," said Glenn Saldanha, Training Advisor, Dubai Duty Free.
DDF Sales Assistants Jaykrishnan and Mona Escobar, were each convinced the training gave them a sales edge.
"It was very informative and I now feel better equipped to sell LG phones," said Jaykrishnan while Mona praised the interactive aspect of the training.
"It was a good learning experience and because it was interactive, we were able to clarify a lot of points," she said. "We are now in a better position to sell the phones and direct customers to agents for after sales service."
LG mobile phones are currently on sale in Abu Dhabi Duty Free as well as Dubai Duty Free.
