- United Arab Emirates: Monday, December 14 - 2009 at 13:15
- PRESS RELEASE
Audi reports the Middle East to be the region with the worldwide highest turnover of customization items per car, ahead of China by almost double, and Germany and the UK by almost 4 times. Following this Audi has developed the world's first full High Definition "Audi exclusive" configurator for customization, which focuses especially on the interior and exterior design of the car.
Armin Weber, Marketing Manager Audi exclusive at Audi Middle East, explains "Customers can come to the showroom and try out different combinations on the large screens. It's very easy and fun to do, almost like a computer game."
Rather than changing an existing car, these vehicles are made to order and largely handcrafted ensuring Audi quality on every single part. The Audi factory in Neckarsulm/Germany customizes approximately 25 vehicles a day. After internal quality checks and function tests, vehicles return to the regular production line for the final inspection.
The Audi exclusive configurator will be available in all Audi showrooms with Audi exclusive customization studios across the region, first for the Audi R8 and soon for all Audi models. The development of the configurator took approximately one year and nine months.
