Bank Sohar to launch SMS alert service for credit card holders

Bank Sohar has announced it is to launch a new SMS alert system for its credit card holders that will update them on all activities that involve the use of their card from transactions at shops and other outlets to updating them on their latest bill.

The new "Credit Card SMS Alert" is the latest enhancement to the bank's increasingly popular credit card services. The Bank Sohar credit card family includes the Excel Classic, Gold and Platinum credit cards and the recently launched, visa IExcel Internet card.

It will be effective from Monday 14th December and the new alert will contain a broad range of information about an individual's credit card activities including transactions at point of sales, cash withdrawals, update on individual balances, activation alerts, card renewal alerts and notification when statements have been issued.

Commenting on the new innovation by the bank, DGM Retail Banking Khalfan Al Taley said:

"This is the latest innovation by Bank Sohar to ensure that we keep our credit card customers fully informed and up to date about the status of their credit card activities - from recent purchases they have made through to details on statements or when they need to renew their card."


The new service will be automatically available for all credit card holders at Bank Sohar.
