Rayovac, the manufacturer of the world's best selling air hearing aid batteries is set to boost its profile in the Middle East when it attends Dubai's Otolaryngology Exhibition & Conference in 2010.
Crafted by IIR Middle East Life Sciences Division, the seventh edition of the Middle East Update in Otolaryngology Exhibition & Conference - Head and Neck Surgery will take place from February 14 to 16, 2010, at the Dubai International Convention and Exhibition Centre.
Rayovac, which manufactures over 60% of the world's hearing aid batteries, will showcase a series of market leading innovations at the region's top event for head, ear and neck specialists.
This includes Rayovac's latest generation of zinc air hearing aid batteries - Extra Advanced - their most powerful and longest lasting available to hearing aid wearers anywhere in the world. The innovative technology also comes with a range of value adding support services for audiologists and their customers.
Rayovac already has a strong presence in the Middle East and is attending Dubai's February gathering as it looks to develop its brand in the region and introduce its latest product enhancements. With sales of hearing devices growing steadily and expected to rise further in future, the Middle East is a key market for Rayovac.
Colin Brinson Pyke, Rayovac's divisional sales manager, said:
"We're looking forward to being in Dubai. The Middle East is an important region and this is the best place to do business and develop relations. We already have a strong presence but are looking to grow the brand and introduce some of our latest product enhancements."
Another groundbreaking innovation is Rayovac's protective stainless steel battery cell casing. The new proprietary design, named PRO-TECT tm, offers an innovative solution to the problem of corrosion which can impair battery performance in hearing devices.
The nickel clad stainless steel casing has now been introduced on all Rayovac batteries and also enhances battery performance by improving conductivity.
The product is ideal for customers in the Middle East as it performs really well in extreme conditions (dry or humid) where the chances of corrosion are increased.
"PRO-TECT tm is a major step forward in battery quality and technology from Rayovac," explains Colin. "The stainless steel casing greatly reduces the risk of corrosion, particularly in Behind the Ear (BTE) devices that are naturally more exposed to humid conditions than other devices."
As befits the world's number one battery manufacturer, Rayovac is also at the forefront of sustainable and environmentally friendly production. It recently launched a new mercury-free battery which will be showcased in Dubai. The battery replaces mercury, a heavy metal, with cleaner materials and more sustainable processes meaning it lasts over 30% longer than any other equivalent competitive mercury-free battery on the market.
Running alongside the exhibition is a conference where regional and international experts will discuss up-to-date trends on treatments and technologies covering topics including endoscopic sinus and base of scull surgery, hearing loss, sleep medicine, snoring, reactive airways and allergies such as fungal sinusitis.
