The Supreme Council of Information and Communication Technology (ictQATAR) has jumped into the blogosphere with the launch of its new blog, Digital Qatar, www.DigitalQatar.qa. Digital Qatar is a blog for technology enthusiasts and a place to explore the boundless potential of information and communication technology.
Digital Qatar is available in both Arabic (www.DigitalQatar.qa) and English (www.DigitalQatar.net) and represents one of the first blogs on technology available in Arabic.
ictQATAR officially launched Digital Qatar at its event, Mudawanat: All About Blogging, which took place on 12 December 2009. At the event, people in Qatar were encouraged to begin blogging, both personally and professionally.

The first postings on Digital Qatar address the basics of creating an effective blog, user-centered website design and developing effective web strategies. ictQATAR plans to post to the blog regularly and will also be inviting outside experts to share posts.
In addition to Digital Qatar, ictQATAR is very active in the world of Web 2.0. ictQATAR currently participates in 14 social media outlets in both Arabic and English, including Facebook, Twitter, WatWet, YouTube, Flickr, and numerous forums.
