Kia launches luxury segment 'green' Cadenza

  • Middle East: Thursday, December 17 - 2009 at 10:53

Kia has unveiled its new Cadenza at the Dubai International Motor Show. The car will replace the 10-year old Opirus as the Korean manufacturer's luxury sedan. Kia is pushing the Cadenza's green credentials, with it gaining a carbon footprint labelling certificate from the Korea Environmental Industry & Technology Institute. The certificate estimates the direct and indirect contribution the car makes to green house gas emissions. For the Cadenza, it was worked out as 29.5t in carbon dioxide, with 11.8% emitted during the raw material production stage, 1.8% during the car production stage, 86.4% during its life's usage (based on it driving 120,000km) and 0.04% during its final disposal stage.
