All-New Chevrolet Camaro SS reports for police duty in Abu Dhabi

Abu Dhabi police have added modified Chevrolet Camaro SS performance cars to its growing fleet of specialist response unit vehicles, designed to provide assistance throughout the city with extreme efficiency.

Major General Nasser La Khreibani Al Nuaimi, Secretary General of the Office of HH Lt. General Sheikh Saif Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Minister of Interior said:
"We have an ongoing commitment to ensure the safety and security of Abu Dhabi through a fleet of police vehicles that can respond quickly and effectively in any situation. Our community police officers have Segways for patrolling the beach areas, and we have vehicles for the desert and the mountains, so we must make sure that we have the patrol cars necessary to keep our highways safe too - the Camaros will help us in this task."


The Camaro SS vehicles were modified by Abu Dhabi Police and have already started active service.

The Camaro SS is powered by a 6.2L V-8 engine, with the manual transmission packing a 462hp (gross) punch while the automatic transmission puts out 441hp (gross).

The delivery of the Camaros by Bin Hamoodah Automotive continues a long and steady partnership with the Abu Dhabi police, who have previously modified Chevrolet Caprices and Chevrolet Tahoes for use as response units.
