Salalah Marriott Resort announces new appointments

Mr. Germinal Garcia has joined Salalah Marriott Resort as General Manager. He has held several positions since Joining Marriott in 1999 as Director of Sales & Marketing, Resident Manager and General Manager in Central & South America and Mexico including positions at the San Salvador Marriott, Guatemala City Marriott Hotel, JW Marriott Caracas Hotel as well as at the JW Marriott Cancun and Marriott Casa Magna Hotel. In 2007, he won the Global & Regional General Manager Sales Leadership Award for the Guatemala City Marriott Hotel. With nearly 25 years of rich experience in the hospitality industry, Mr. Germinal feels 'very honoured opening the first Marriott property in Oman'.

Mr. Ahmed El Meligui has joined Salalah Marriott Resort as Sales & Marketing Director. Mr. Ahmed joined the hospitality industry in 1992 and has worked in different international hotel chains in Egypt (Accor, Sheraton, Radisson SAS, Hyatt & Marriott) in key Sales & Marketing positions. He joined Marriott in 2006 and was awarded Sales Leadership 2008 for UKMEA.

Mr. Hesham Dawoud has joined Salalah Marriott Resort as Director of Operations. Mr. Hesham has been with Marriott for more than 27 years of which 20 years have been in the USA. His work experience has encompassed major operational roles such as Hotel Manager, Director of Operations and Director of Food and Beverage. He has also worked with Ritz Carlton, Convention Hotels, Conference Centre, and Resorts. Mr. Hesham is a graduate from Cairo University with a major in Microbiology and a Master's Degree in Tissue Analysis, but chose a career in the hospitality industry due to his deep passion for the hotel business.

Mr. M. Asif has joined Salalah Marriott Resort as Director of Finance. Holding a Bachelor's Degree in Commerce from University of Karachi in Pakistan and currently working on his ACCA, Mr. Asif started his career with Marriott at the Karachi Marriott Hotel, Pakistan in 1989 and then moved to JW Marriott Dubai in 2002 as Payable Supervisor, later becoming Assistant Controller. In August 2005, he moved to Kuwait as Financial Controller and later became Director of Finance for Shared Services JW Kuwait, CY and Arraya Convention Centre.
