Reichle and De-Massari announces strategy of expansion and innovation for 2010

Reichle and De-Massari announced today it plans to expand in Africa despite the global economic crisis, as a result of the tremendous growth the company has experienced in Africa and its commitment to the continent's market potential.

Already R&M is one of Africa's top three players in the network sector and has successfully completed several high profile signature projects in Egypt, Libya, and Sudan. The Middle East Africa region as a whole is considered a key market for the company, with sales growth in 2008 an impressive 63.4 percent. Over the past year, the company has also made great strides in a number of key sectors such as the airports domain and construction. R&M also sees great opportunity in Africa's telecom sector, and as a result has appointed Mr. Ahmed Abu El Naga as Regional Key Account Manager, Public Networks, for more focus on this fast growing sector.

"Due to our success in Egypt, Libya, and Sudan, we plan to expand our activities in Africa. Africa holds great potential for R&M and we intend to leverage our existing partnerships and investments in the region to actively increase our market share in current markets as well as penetrate others such as Morocco, Tunisia, Algeria, Nigeria, Ghana, and Kenya", said Mr. Alfred Tharwat, Area Manager, Africa.

In addition to its expansion plans, R&M is also equipping itself for the future. The company is adhering to its forward looking strategy by making anti-cyclical investments in innovation, development and infrastructure. Investment volume in the fiber optics futures market, for example, was increased by 10 percent in comparison with 2008. Another anti-cyclical investment is a new and innovative ERP solution which will significantly increase efficiency.

"Thanks to R&M's healthy equity base, we are able to maintain a forward looking strategy of both expansion and internal process optimization and innovation, to be well positioned for 2010 and beyond," concluded Mr. Tharwat.

R&M is one of the world's leading cabling specialists, represented internationally in over 30 countries. The company's expansion in Africa strengthens R&M's market leading position and demonstrates its commitment to better serving its growing regional customer base. Its forward looking strategy of innovation, research, and development highlights R&M's dedication to bringing enterprises and end users advanced products with current and future communications needs in mind.
