Toshiba set to lead Mid-East portable computer market

The four new series - Portégé R100, Tecra S1, Tecra M1 and Satellite Pro M10 - offer corporate customers and travelling professionals the latest technology designed for optimal flexibility and productivity.

Portégé R100: The ultimate ultra-portable
Weighing just over 1kg, the Portégé R100 is perfect for 'Road-warriors' looking for ultra-portable productivity. Continuing the tradition of Toshiba's sleek ultra-portable range, the Portégé R100 will be the thinnest wireless embedded notebook available in the series.

The Portégé R100 features a ULV Intel Pentium M processor 900MHz, 256MB DDR RAM, 20-40GB hard disk drive, SD slot and two USB 2.0 ports. A bright 12.1" polysilicon TFT display can operate on eight different levels of brightness to enable the user to manage power more effectively and achieve longer battery life. The primary battery offers up to two hours of battery life and up to 6.8 hours can be enjoyed with the high capacity battery pack that is included with the unit.

Tecra S1: The finest combination of scalability and value in corporate computing
Toshiba's latest edition to the Tecra family, Tecra S1, is a desktop replacement that offers heavyweight performance and features with added bonus to be mobile when necessary.

The Tecra S1 will be available in three different configurations featuring Intel Pentium M processors of up to 1.6GHz, providing advanced power, battery optimization and wireless connectivity delivering corporate customer a stable, scaleable notebook with an easy-to-configure platform. Comfort, style and convenience are also provided with a full-sized keyboard, 14-inch or 15-inch display, ATI Mobility Radeon 9000 graphics processor, integrated Wi-Fi and Bluetooth upgradeability, in a strong magnesium casing. It also includes dual mouse control, the Toshiba Dual Pointing Device for added functionality.

Tecra M1: A blend of stability, performance and portability for the mobile executive
In the tradition of all Tecra notebooks, the M1 series will guarantee businesses stability for a minimum of 12 months and with state-of-the-art mobile technology and unprecedented battery life in excess of five hours and up to 8.7 hours with the second optional battery, the Tecra M1 is the ultimate corporate notebook.

The Tecra M1 series will be available with Intel Pentium M processors of up to 1.6GHz, hard disk drives of up to 60GB and 256MB of DDR RAM memory (expandable to 2GB). The Tecra M1 includes enhanced features such as brightness sensor to control the 14-inch display in different environmental settings and the Toshiba Presentation Button to launch presentations with a single touch on a projector. A variety of communication options also provide access to information on a corporate network and/or Internet via integrated Wi-Fi, Bluetooth upgradeable, i.LINK (IEEE 1394), integrated 10/100/1000 Ethernet port, built-in V.90 modem and the option for a DVD MultiDrive (DVD-RAM/DVD-R/RW).

Satellite Pro M10: High-end mobile multimedia and affordability combined
The Satellite Pro M10 series adds the perfect balance of multimedia features and style for both work and home use with a new onyx blue casing. It combines the Intel Pentium M processor 1.6GHz, NVIDIA GeForce4 420 Go graphics, harman/kardon stereo speakers, a massive 60GB hard disk drive, 256MB of DDR RAM memory (expandable to 2GB), a DVD-ROM/CD-RW drive and a swappable modular bay (SlimSelect Bay) for added flexibility and expansion capabilities.

It also includes the Toshiba Dual Pointing Device, one-touch Toshiba Presentation Button, Secure Digital (SD) slot, i.Link (IEEE 1394) port and an optional DVD MultiDrive (DVD-RAM/DVD-R/RW). The Satellite Pro will be available in three different display configurations; 14-inch, 15-inch, and 15-inch Super Fine Screen TFT display.
