The award which recognises outstanding performance in international trade has been awarded to Kimal for the first time. The award panel took into account the level of new business and consolidated existing business that the company has achieved in markets such as Venezuela, Brazil, China and Germany where the company set up its own subsidiary in early 2009.
From an international perspective, Kimal during the financial period 1st April 2008 to 31st March 2009, the company saw a 25.7% increase in export growth. Interestingly, although not registered as part of the award criteria, Kimal has seen new business sales in the Middle East itself, as at the end of December 2009 in the Middle East increase by 227% on the same period in 2008-09.
Commenting on Kimal being the recipient of the award, Kimal's Corporate Marketing Manager Ken Findlay said
"This is a fantastic honour for the company to receive the award, and especially at Arab Health, where not only do we celebrate trading successfully for 30 years in the region but we also receive the award from the Show Director of the largest medical congress in the Arabic region"
In an additional comment, Kimal Chief Executive, Alan Press said "It is highly appropriate that we receive this award here in Dubai, as in the last financial year, our Middle East sales team increased their business significantly by over 42.5% to £6.59m - a fantastic achievement in itself"
Following on the success of his award, Kimal hope to be nominated for the UK National 'Export Achievement Award' from MediLink UK. They are also on the shortlist for Middle East Hospital Medical Journal's 'British Exporter of the Year Award' and their 'Most Innovative Product Award.'
