Design Jordan holds first open house

Design Jordan, the Kingdom's first and only industrial and product design institution, will hold its first open house at their studios in Amman 24 - 27 February 2010 from 10am - 7pm to introduce their latest products, initiatives and connect pioneering product designers with key manufacturers and businesses in the local and regional market.

Design Jordan will exhibit their newest products and share the design processes used to create them, including the conceptualisation of the idea, the development of the concept, the importance of user testing, and the four principles upon which they base their work: pioneering design, innovation, high quality and holistic problem solving.

Design Jordan will also launch its first regional product design competition as part of the institution's dynamic Incubator Initiative, an effort to nurture designers from the Arab World .

"This open house is a great opportunity to introduce our work, network and discuss the latest developments in the product design industry. Our goal is to create and perpetuate a culture of innovative design in the Middle East and to elevate trust in locally made products," said Racha Tarazi, Managing and Creative Director at Design Jordan.

Design Jordan, a visionary design institution focused on creating positive social change through product innovation, is the result of collaboration between KADDB, the Nuqul Group, Maani Ventures, Maisam Architects & Engineers, Petra Engineering Industries, Sayegh Group, and Sabeel. The institution, which creates innovative products inspired by Arabic culture that adhere to international standards of safety and design, consists of a Studio, Lab, Incubator Initiative, and Commercial Division.
