Registration to Sheikh Salem Al Ali Al Sabah Informatics Award exceed expectations

Registrations from the UAE participants to the Sheikh Salem Al Ali Al Sabah Informatics Award have grown sharply this year as compared to last year. This is according to Dr. Khalil Abdullah Abel, GM of the Sheikh Salem Al Ali Al Sabah Informatics Award.

He pointed out that the prestigious award enjoyed significant interest from participants from Arab states.

"This surge in interest is mainly due to the high standards we hold in our filtering and judging processes as well as the fact that ours is the richest award of its kind in the region," he added.

The award ceremony will be held under the patronage of HRH the Amir or Kuwait. The date of the ceremony is yet to be announced.

"The Sheikh Salem Al Ali Al Sabah Informatics Award aims to enhance IT skills and innovation amongst the Arab youth, preparing them to contribute in developing Arabic content and information technology culture, promote excellence, creativity and competitiveness as well as enforcing the role of technology in culture and society,"

added Dr. Khalil Abdullah Abel.

Dr. Abel mentioned that the award judges will use four 'pillars' to qualify participant, those being: Internet services, content, design and the technology utilized to deliver such services.
