Taqa's strategy on Emiratization is to recruit, train, develop and integrate UAE nationals at all levels of the business and to help Emiratis become leading professionals in the energy sector. As such, Taqa will contribute positively to the welfare and development of the UAE and in particular the Abu Dhabi Strategic Plan 2030.

An important part of this commitment is increasing the number of UAE nationals occupying various roles within the organization through a series of new initiatives at Taqa, which include the following programmes:
• Emiratization Trainee Programme - recruit and train UAE nationals at the graduate level and ultimately develop a team of professionals highly proficient in all areas of our business.
• A Leadership Programme - create opportunities for experienced UAE nationals with a view to creating the next generation of executive leadership across the company's global business.
• Internship Programme - provide undergraduate students a genuine experience of our work, our people and our culture, We have worked hard to design a programme which successfully combines live experience in our business with workshops and seminars dedicated to the career development of participants.

Through these initiatives, Emiratis will have the opportunity to experience a fast-paced, dynamic working environment, where they will be work alongside local and international talent and have the opportunity to work across various segments in the energy sector.

Carl Sheldon, General Manager, commented:
"We are delighted to be announcing that Taqa will be looking to increase the number of UAE nationals in the company following the success of Tawdheef. While we are proud to have achieved an Emiratization level of above 20% in our Abu Dhabi office, Emiratization for Taqa however is not merely a number. We are heavily committed to advancing the economic and industrial growth of the UAE. As such we are proud to support the Government's initiative to bring talented UAE national employees into the workforce and providing them with training and career development programmes."

"The energy industry is one of the most important industries in the region and we are aiming to attract more UAE nationals to work in the sector and gain international experience. We believe that the success of an Emiratization Strategy depends on a structured and holistic approach and that single initiatives are not sufficient. For this reason we have adopted an aggressive and multi-disciplined Emiratization Strategy with several initiatives designed to help Taqa recruit and train UAE nationals. Our announcement today is a tribute to the hugely important and unique contribution our current Emirati nationals have made to the business and is testimony to the talent we have seen among job seeking UAE nationals," Sheldon added.

"I congratulate the government of Abu Dhabi for organising Tawdheef last week and thank them for bringing together UAE nationals looking for employment opportunities at organisations like Taqa who are bolstering their position with these important hires," he added.
