Abu Dhabi Education Council, The Hague Academy of International Law to host conference on sustainable development

H.E. Dr. Mugheer Khamis Al-Khaili, Director General of Abu Dhabi Education Council (ADEC), today announced that ADEC and The Hague Academy of International Law will host a conference on sustainable development in November 2010.
"With more than 50 experts and well-known academics participating in the conference later this year, from both inside and outside UAE, the conference will help us inform the education sector and the broader community about international law, particularly as it relates to the environment, maritime and energy," said HE Dr Al Khaili.
Participating experts will be presenting the latest theories and research in relation to these specific areas of interest through seminars and lectures. The conference will also discuss alternative energy and the importance of having the headquarters of the International Renewable Energy Agency (IRENA) in Abu Dhabi.
"ADEC is committed to its partnerships with the most reputable international educational institutions - this will help us achieve education excellence in Abu Dhabi and fulfill the social and economic goals set by our leaders. We are delighted to now welcome The Hague Academy of International Law as one of our partners in promoting education," said H.E. Dr. Al Khaili added.
Located alongside the International Court of Justice, The Hague Academy of International Law is one of the world's well-known law institutions presided by Mr. Boutros Boutros Ghali, the former UN Secretary General.
