  • United Arab Emirates: Wednesday, February 17 - 2010 at 11:43
  • PRESS RELEASE

Damas, the renowned international jeweller based in Middle East, introduces Navaratna the ethnically colourful collection based on the ancient astrological traditions of India.

It offers charismatic 18k yellow gold pendant chains, earrings and rings studded with nine gems - diamonds, rubies, pearls, coral, garnet, blue sapphire, cat's eye, yellow sapphire and emerald - which are considered to be highly auspicious and which are said to exert a powerful beneficial effect on its wearer's life.

The Navaratna (nava meaning nine and rathna meaning gems) has its basis in the existence of the Navagra-ha, (graha meaning planets) or the nine planets. Each of these nine gems has its own ruling planet said to influence different aspects of an individual's life such as mental, physical, emotional, career, fortune etc, by strengthening the rays of the planet they represent. So wearing the Navaratna is a remedial measure in as-trology that's proven to attract positive benefits to its wearer, thereby bringing good fortune and providing pro-tection against harm.

The new Navaratna set for women unfurls a glamorous pair of stud earrings, a strikingly attractive necklace and a ring. While its boldly assertive men's ring.

Tamjid Abdullah, Deputy Managing Director, Damas Jewellery said,

"We are indeed very happy to introduce the new Damas Navaratna brand based on the hoary traditions of India. Combining the finest gems of the highest purity and clarity and backed by Damas' well known craftsmanship, the new Navaratna collection of-fers a vibrantly colourful range of jewels for both astrology and jewellery lovers."

Ajay Pandey - GM Category & Marketing Head, said, "Since time immemorial, the Navaratna has been highly revered and regarded as a jewel which promotes health, good fortune and success. And the new Damas Na-varatna set designed around an intricate floral motif presents a bewitching line of jewels for both women and men."
