The 2010 versions of Kaspersky Anti-Virus and Kaspersky Internet Security, reflect an evolutionary rather than a revolutionary change in Kaspersky Lab's product line. They incorporate technologies that were present in the 2009 versions and have since undergone further improvement and integration. This has allowed the development of the progressive IT security concepts introduced in the previous versions to be continued, and gives users of the company's products an even higher level of security.

Kaspersky Anti-Virus 2010 and Kaspersky Internet Security 2010 incorporate several new technological innovations as well as a number of improvements to many of the IT security concepts that were present in the previous product versions.

The innovations and improvements outlined in this Kaspersky Lab white paper are as follows:

  • - Safe run of applications in a secure isolated environment - 'sandbox'
  • - Web address filtering (URL)
  • - Urgent Detection System (UDS), online rapid response to threats
  • - Kaspersky Security Network (KSN)

  • - Updatable Behavior Stream Signature (BSS)
  • - Script emulator
  • - Windows executable file emulator
  • - Anti-rootkit technologies
  • - Virtual keyboard
  • - Web Toolbar
  • - Protection from spam: Kaspersky Anti-Spam 4.0
  • - Rescue CD for system recovery
  • - Accelerated antivirus scanning technology (iChecker3)
