Online ad spending to rise in Arab region

  • Middle East: Sunday, February 28 - 2010 at 11:08

A new report on the Arab media from Dubai Press Club has predicted that online advertising in the Arab world will grow from $54m to $266m over the next five years. Though online will still constitute just 4% of the overall advertising spend in the region, the report termed it as significant given the low broadband penetration in the region, which is only 12% currently. The report sees the strong proportion of youth demographic in the region as one of the main factors that will drive the growth of online platforms.
