As Francois Retourne, Schneider Electric country manager for Qatar explained;
"We have been present in Qatar for 20 years and our main business is power solutions for buildings or industrial sites. Managing energy is vitally important, as the combination of heating, ventilating, air conditioning and lighting contributes to over 70% of energy used in buildings."
"Based on our EcoStruxure solutions architecture that focuses on reducing installation and operational costs while enhancing end-users comfort through real time control, across multiple systems, Schneider Electric can provide savings ranging from 15% to 30%."
Schneider Electric supplies energy products including variable speed drives and metering devices, as well as building management systems, which enable the customer to greatly regulate their energy output. The company also offers energy efficiency audits for any project, in order to advise its customers on ways to address energy consumption issues.
Speaking about the event, Retourne said: "The MEED conference represents the perfect platform to emphasise the importance of maintaining optimum energy efficiency in buildings and discuss ways this can be done effectively, not only in Qatar, but throughout the GCC."
In Qatar, Schneider Electric is active in a number of projects, with the most significant of these being The Pearl, an ambitious real estate project built on a man-made island. Schneider Electric supplies all the power solutions to the majority of the buildings in the development.
Schneider Electric operates in over 100 countries and has 30 years operational experience in the Gulf. It recently signed a strategic agreement with Masdar, Abu Dhabi's multi-faceted renewable energy company, where it will supply a range of energy management solutions for the project as well as research and development capabilities.
