  • PRESS RELEASE

Saaed Mohammed Al Ghandi & Sons and transportation giant Iveco have unveiled the Iveco New Trakker at the region's only specialised event for the Commercial Vehicle industry, Commercial Vehicles Middle East.

Produced in Europe, the brand new 2010 model is making its first appearance in the GCC at the three-day exhibition and conference in Dubai. With a renewed cabin offering enhanced comfort for day-to-day operations, superior safety features, acoustic insulation for noise reduction, an improved engine, increased robustness and two year warranty, the New Trakker is Iveco's flagship vehicle.

Siro Fabbri, Area Manager, Iveco, said:
"The New Trakker is designed to meet every kind of extreme off-road mission. The new interior and exterior cabin design, introduced after consultation with our customers, will improve driver comfort onboard and contribute to enhanced productivity and safety. This cutting edge model also meets the latest European safety and emission standards."

"Iveco is committed to offering customers globally a wide range of engine solutions and vehicles that meet the highest environmental and safety standards. We offer Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) engines, and we're currently testing vehicles with hybrid propulsion and all electric engines in Europe," Fabbri added.

In addition to the Iveco New Trakker, the company is also showing the Iveco Eurocargo, Iveco Daily Van and Iveco-Irisbus Crossway bus at Commercial Vehicles Middle East.

Graham Turner, CEO of the Al Ghandi Auto Group, the sole distributor for Iveco in Dubai and the Northern Emirates said, "Commercial Vehicles Middle East is the biggest showcase in the GCC for Commercial Vehicles and the only gathering for professionals in this industry, providing the perfect platform to launch the New Trakker in this region."

Iveco is well established globally with over 28,000 employees, 27 production facilities in 16 countries, more than 4,600 service outlets in over 100 countries offering technical support to customers and a strong presence in Europe, Middle East and Africa, China, Russia, Australia, Argentina and Brazil.

Despite difficult operating conditions for vehicle manufacturers due to the global downturn, Saeed Mohammed Al Ghandi & Sons has reported increased sales in the UAE due to the diversified vehicle range.

"The Iveco range includes everything from small vans to buses and heavy duty trucks, so there's always a market place. For Example we recently sold 20 4x4 trucks to the Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA), with delivery commencing at the end of this month," said Turner.

The inaugural Commercial Vehicles Middle East provided a unique platform for region's Commercial Vehicles industry to meet and do business, and according to the event organiser's Streamline Marketing Group, several deals are underway.

FibraFoil, a premium automotive foil wrapping company, has extensive experience working with government departments and has further strengthened its relationship with Emirates Transport and Dubai Police at the show.

Omar Al Haider, Sales Manager at FibraFoil said, "We've had a very high number of visitors at our stand and strong interest from both private companies and government departments. We estimate potential deals worth Dhs1,000,000 could result from business contacts made at the show."

Munro Commercials, a leading manufacturer and supplier of transport solutions, launched a new concept of Double Deck trailers at the show, the curtain-clear, designed to expand trailer capacity, improve side load access, reduce damage to curtains and achieve improved fuel economy on the road.

Andre Ishac, Managing Director of Munro Commercial's Middle East Office said, "The curtain-clear is a revolutionary new concept in this region. We've confirmed orders with a leading GCC food and beverage company, and negotiations are ongoing with other interested logistical parties in the Middle East and Africa as a result of our participation in Commercial Vehicles Middle East."
