Life Fitness signs on as national supplier to Doha 2010

The organising committee of the IAAF World Indoor Championships (WIC) in Athletics (Doha 2010) held a signing ceremony confirming Life Fitness, the global leader in home and commercial fitness equipment, as a national supplier of the event.

Life Fitness is providing the WIC organising committee with professional fitness equipment and has equipped the Athletes gyms at the official IAAF Athletes hotels in Doha, as well as at Aspire Dome. The equipment in use at Doha 2010 includes Life Fitness's proprietary range of professional cardio and strength training gear, including the company's Elevation Series (Engage Model) of cardio equipment which have been set up for the athletes at the Aspire Dome.

Mr. Abdulrahman Al Dossari, Doha 2010 Marketing Manager and Director of Marketing & Public Relations at the Qatar Olympic Committee said: "We are extremely pleased to be working alongside Life Fitness during the IAAF World Indoor Championships. They have been instrumental in helping the organising committee provide world-class fitness environments for the numerous international athletes in Doha for the championships."

Mr. Mazen Rahhal, Life Fitness Regional Manager(Qatar, UAE, Bahrain, Oman and Yemen), said in a statement: "We are honoured to be part of the IAAF World Indoor Championships and have approached equipping the official gyms very scientifically to ensure that every athlete will have a range of strength and cardio training equipment. Workouts at this level must be precisely measured in terms of cardiovascular intensity and variability of strength training to suit each specific requirement."

A leader in exercise innovation, Life Fitness takes cardio fitness to new heights with the Elevation Series which is available at the official gyms and delivers an immersive exercise experience, motivating exercisers with integrated touch-screen consoles featuring full audiovisual connectivity. It gives users access to their favourite programming, iPod music and video, a virtual trainer and the ability to create workouts and track results.

Using the company's virtual trainer available on its website and a USB drive, the athletes can also create personalised workouts, inclusive of a virtual trainer's voice to motivate them. They can also keep track of their workouts and save results which can be uploaded to the website to view and track progress.

The World Indoor Championships take place at the Aspire Dome from 12-14 March 2010.
The IAAF World Indoor Championships are also supported globally by Official IAAF Partners Adidas, Samsung, Seiko, TDK, VTB, TBS and Official IAAF Suppliers Mondo. The institutions supporting the IAAF World Indoor Championships as National Partners are Qatar Insurance Company (QIC) and q.media Decaux, in addition to national suppliers: Aggreko, Gatorade, GO Sport, Gulf Warehousing Company, Life Fitness, Mowasalat and Virgin Megastores.
