IMT Dubai hosts International Conference on Technology and Business Management 2010

More than 80 delegates from 10 countries participated in the inaugural International Conference on Technology, Business Management (ICTBM) 2010 at the Dubai International Academic City (DIAC).

Organised by the Institute of Management Technology (IMT) Dubai, one of DIAC's key academic partners, the event that was held from 16-18 March witnessed 436 papers being submitted for consideration, out of which 86 papers will be published in the ICTBM bulletin.

The papers were submitted by delegates from India, Indonesia, Iran, Italy, Libya, Oman, Portugal, Taiwan, the UAE, Ukraine, the UK, and the US.

The conference was aimed at strengthening IMT's association with the corporate world by bringing in a significant gathering of professionals in technology and management - two important pillars of success not just for business, but for all public sector, non-profit and government organisations.

The event included parallel technical sessions on e-business, Indian industries and capital markets. Supported by the Association of Indian Management Scholar - International (AIMS) and the International Forum of Management Scholars (INFOMS), Houston, US, the conference attracted a vast pool of researchers, students and academicians from around the globe.

The Institute of Management Technology is based in the Dubai International Academic City (DIAC), a member of TECOM Investments, and offers an accredited MBA programme as well as executive education programme to companies operating in the UAE.

Dr. Abhilasha Singh (Professor, IMT-D), Co-Chair of ICTBM-10, welcomed the chief guest Dr. Ayoub Kazim, Executive Director, Dubai Knowledge Village and Dubai International Academic City, and other distinguished guests.

Dr. Ayoub Kazim, said:

Prof. Lawrence Loh, Vice-President of Academic Affairs, Al Ghurair University Dubai, was also present at the event. Prof. Shivprakash Agarwal, Babaria Institute of Technology, India, gave the vote of thanks, while the students of IMT-Dubai offered a colourful and entertaining cultural programme.
