Travelport hosts forum for Middle East distributors

Travelport, one of the world's leading global distribution system (GDS) providers, recently held its annual distributor's conference in Lebanon, where the company shared its vision and upcoming plans with its distribution partners from across the Middle East.

Held against the idyllic backdrop of the Faraya Mountains, the three-day gathering was a key platform for the GDS provider to share valuable industry knowledge and best practices with its distributors and operators, who form an important part of the company's network in the region.

"Our annual distributor's conference is a great opportunity for us to solidify the already robust distribution network that we have in place across the Middle East," said Jennifer D'Souza, Regional Commercial Director, Travelport. "With the strong local expertise and on-the-ground support of our valued distribution partners, we remain firmly positioned to serve the needs of travel agencies across the region."

Awards were also handed out at the gathering to recognize the achievements of several distributors, including Galileo Yemen, Kuwait, Oman and Syria. Special recognition was also given to Galileo Pakistan, who was given an award for its remarkable volunteer effort last year during the country's SWAT valley conflict.

With both the Galileo and Worldspan booking systems under its umbrella, Travelport is uniquely positioned to meet the growing requirements of travel agents around the globe, equipping them with the technology, content and support to meet their current and long-term needs.
