Flydubai announces flights to Luxor, Egypt

Flydubai, Dubai's low cost airline, will add a third Egyptian destination to its network on Wednesday, May 19 when it begins a thrice weekly service to the ancient city of Luxor.

Flydubai has operated flights to Alexandria since June 2009, and the low cost, uncomplicated service has proved to be such a hit with Egyptian passengers that the airline is expanding its network of destinations in the country to include Assiut and Luxor.

Prices to Assiut and Luxor will be the same as the fare that was introduced into Alexandria last year. And as always with Flydubai, that's the price of a one way flight, including all taxes and charges and one piece of hand baggage weighing up to 10kg.

FZ183 will depart Dubai at 2255hrs and land in Luxor at 0135hrs the following day. FZ184 will depart Luxor at 0220hrs and arrive into Dubai at 0645hrs.

Ghaith Al Ghaith, CEO of Flydubai said:

"Egypt is a very important market for us and I am delighted that we are able to expand our network to include Assiut and Luxor. These are destinations that are underserved by direct air links to the UAE and that is what we are here for - our aim is to help more people travel to more destinations more often and we are making that a reality in Egypt with these routes."

"Luxor can boast some of the most incredible sights in the world and I am confident that once our simple, low fare service starts visitors from the UAE and further afield will flock to view the splendours of sights such as the Valley of the Kings and the Temple of Karnak.

"I would like to thank the Egyptian authorities for their support and we look forward to continuing and strengthening the excellent relationship between our two countries."
