Hertz launches partnership with Oman Air

Hertz, the world's largest general use car rental company, has announced a new partnership with Oman Air to provide members of its Sindbad Frequent Flyer Programme with access to special offers and best available rates in the airline's key destination markets.

From 1 June 2010, Sindbad members travelling with Oman Air can earn 500 Sindbad Miles for every eligible rental of a standard vehicle from the Hertz Collection and 1,000 Sindbad Miles for every eligible rental with the Hertz Prestige Collection, a dedicated fleet of superior performance vehicles with make and model reservability.

In addition, Sindbad Gold and Silver members will also receive complimentary enrolment into the Hertz #1 Club Gold programme, which offers customers faster reservations and rentals, express check-in at over 1,000 locations, straight-to-car service at 40 major airports, as well as further discounted rates and offers.

Oman Air's fleet consists of Boeing 737-800 and Airbus A330s. At the end of 2009 the fleet strength stood at 15 B737-800s, two A330-200s and two A330-300s. During 2010 / 2011, 3 additional A330-300 will be delivered.

Also, Oman Air recently signed a contract with Embraer for the purchase of five Embraer 175 aircraft from the E-Jets family, with purchase rights for another five aircraft. The first delivery is scheduled for the first quarter of 2011.

For the future Oman Air has ordered 6 Boeing 787 Dreamliners, which are scheduled for delivery in 2014.

Oman Air unveiled its First Class Mini Suite in October 2009 which marks a further milestone in Oman Air's ongoing drive for quality and comfort. During early 2009, Oman Air unveiled its new, lie-flat Business Class seat, which offers greater levels of comfort and amenity than many other airlines' first class products and will be fitted on all the new Airbus wide-body fleet.
