- PRESS RELEASE
The multi-billion dollar construction sector in the GCC is on a promising recovery track with leading industry players once again looking for feasible investments and opportunities to diversify their portfolios, according to Chris Hudson, Managing Director of Mecom Forums, and Partner of Clarion Events.
Hudson said, "If the key names that have pledged participation at the Arabian Construction Week 2010 is any indication, we are confident the industry is picking up momentum and steadily opening up exciting investment opportunities. To date, we have signed over 150 exhibitors and are expecting thousands of industry professionals and visitors to converge in Abu Dhabi next month."
Shell Lubricants and the Abu Dhabi Department of Municipal Affairs are the headline sponsors of Arabian Construction Week 2010 that also has Framecad, Green Precast Systems and Technologies LLC, and Commodore Steel Industries LLC as the gold sponsors. RMD Kwikform Middle East, Doka International and Peri LLC will participate as the silver sponsors while Etihad Airways is the official airline sponsor.
Amr Adel, General Manager, Shell Lubricants, Middle East, Central Asia and East, said, "We are delighted to sponsor this event. In collaboration with our distributor, the Al Jaber Group, we are proud to offer our full range of products and services to enhance the business performance of our current and future customers. We extend a warm invitation to all to visit our stand and review some of the aspects of our innovative technology leadership. Our focus is on developing products and services that provide both superior protection and efficiency to our customers."
The Green Building Middle East at the Arabian Construction Week 2010 will showcase premium sustainable construction products, while Future-Build Middle East will serve as the first dedicated single-sourcing platform for latest technology and innovative construction projects. Civil Engineering Middle East, meanwhile, will showcase the latest products and solutions for major infrastructure and transport projects that are rapidly transforming the Middle East landscape.
Organised by Mecom Forums/Clarion Events in partnership with MEED, Arabian Construction Week 2010 will serve as a perfect platform for companies to display a full range of green building, innovative building and engineering products and services to thousands of buyers from across the Middle East and neighbouring regions.
Huseyin Ozcan, Executive Director of Commodore Steel Industries, said, "The green building and environmental practices market presents considerable opportunities. The need is there and it is acknowledged by many of the region's developing countries. Building according to environmental codes may seem to add on cost but this is not always the case with today's Cold Formed Steel (CFS) technology, as we are now able to reduce the overall cost of construction along with consuming available resources responsibly for this and future generations. We will use the platform of ACW 2010 to showcase our latest environmental friendly and green construction system through the revolutionary Cold Formed Steel (CFS) technology."
The Arabian World Construction Summit (AWCS) as well as the Green Building Middle East Summit will witness international spokespersons analysing integral issues that currently face the region's construction industry.
In addition to its conference programme, the Arabian Construction Week will act as a pre-tender sourcing forum for the region's existing and potential construction and infrastructure projects. It will also aim to work towards a better built environment for the cities of today and the future.
