Dubai 2003 organising committee holds first meeting at Dubai International Convention Centre

The Organising Committee of Dubai 2003 held its first weekly meeting at the state-of-the-art Dubai International Convention Centre, the venue of the Annual Meetings of the Boards of Governors of the World Bank Group and International Monetary Fund in Dubai in September.
The members also agreed to enhance the publicity campaign which will feature interviews with various experts attached to the different committees. They also agreed to invite representatives from the Dubai Ports and Customs Free Zone Corporation to join the Security Committee because the Corporation also covered all entry and exit points in the Emirate. The meeting also approved the budget for the airport.
Members of the Organising Committee also discussed names that were proposed for the different Halls at Dubai International Convention Centre and made changes to the names to match some of the most popular areas in Dubai. The Committee also discussed the work being done by the Transport Committee for the Annual Meetings including the facilities at Dubai World Trade Centre, airport and hotel services and the number of people who would be required to carry out these activities, which is estimated at 3,000.
